An approach to translation (II) - Karlos del Olmo

This article is the second part of a series dedicated to divulging Professor Peter Newmark's theoretical and practical contributions.
In this instance, a selection has been made of the first nine articles of the collection entitled «Paragraphs on Translation», published in the prestigious magazine The Linguist.
Its main objective is to disseminate the contributions made by this researcher. Practical solutions to problems encountered by any translator, whether he works in English or not, may be found beside general theoretical annotations. It goes without saying that much of his guidance opens avenues of great interest for translators from the Basque Country.
